Color + Mia = happy!
So I was about to go to bed when I thought, "Hmm, I want to color something." Brought out a sketchpad and came up with this. I'm glad it didn't take too long (less than an hour), so I can go to sleep. Mmmsleepy.
Watercolor and ink over the initial sketch. This is the first time I inked with a steel nib + ink pot! It was fun, though the ink kinda bled because of the paper.
Wasn't planning to paint the background, but I had brown paint left over, so... On second thought, it detracts from the contrast, but--
Still having trouble with thinking "watercolor" when I paint. I keep thinking, "build up, build up, build up" and keep obsessively adding layers even when they completely wipe out any highlights. Rrrr. I have to learn restraint sometime.
The things on her arm are tattoos, but the triangle surrounding her eye is just makeup.
Also, she has red highlights because she wanted some.
