Second page in my calligraphy practice notebook! (Which is a Moleskine Squared notebook -- it's a little small, but I like the fact that there's a grid.)
I haven't done any calligraphy since I finished Things Fall Apart, and no pretty calligraphy since Tracing the Heart. I thought I should do at least one or two pages to keep myself from turning irredeemably rusty.
Trouble with the n's, as usual, and the slant of the letters, but I'm happy I'm starting to learn how to vary sizes and positions. (Scribing poetry sort of turned me into a zombie in terms of varying baselines and heights.) Trying to get a feel for simple flourishing, nothing too elaborate for this kind of alphabet.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
